When Online Paid Surveys Break Down
When you first start to check things out about paid online surveys, you really don’t know what to believe. There are so many sites on the Internet, how are you supposed to know which are legitimate, and which aren’t? After doing a lot more reading, you begin to realize that the scammers are the ones that require you to pay them, when it should be the other way around. Rule # 1 – Don’t ever pay to join a site.
I was more than a bit skeptical of anyone’s ability to make money taking surveys when I started out. I guess that makes me a little paranoid; I can get easily worked up when something doesn’t work perfectly and send off a nasty email to the customer service department of that survey company when I don’t really need to. For example, there was the incident with Synovate.
I had already done several surveys with Synovate when they sent me a big survey about my purchases in December, 2007. I started clicking away like mad, excited to finally qualify for one of the bigger surveys. After working on the survey for close to forty minutes, suddenly I was confronted by the dreaded error message. I blew. My email message I sent was, well, irate. Boy, was I embarrassed when I signed back in only to find the survey start back up again right where I was before. I still got the points I was supposed to!
In other words, if there are technical difficulties, or if payment doesn’t show up right away, please don’t immediately assume that you are being scammed. There usually is a pretty good explanation. Try again, and I’ll bet it will work itself out!
