Nielsen/Net Ratings: An Survey Site Update
Nielsen/Net Ratings has always been a sweepstakes only site. You all should know by now, how much I don’t like being paid with a chance. Well, they’re now going to be paying $5 a quarter, or $20 a year, to those who keep participating.
They sent me an email over-viewing the possibilities for those who do choose to be one of their panel members. Since this is Nielsen, you know they’re going to be tracking you. They do appreciate this, though, and it may actually make a difference in how companies interact and do business with you, the consumer.
Nielsen has several different ways of rewarding you, now. You can make up to $20 a year for being an active panel member. You will have a chance to win over 1,500 instant prizes and you’ll have entries into the $10,000 grand prize sweepstakes.
There are more ways to win, too. If you tell 1 to 6 friends, you can earn 2 instant reward plays, plus 4 entries into the grand prize drawing. Take a Nielsen survey and you can earn 2 instant reward plays plus 2 entries into the grand prize drawing. Be an active panel member and earn 2 instant reward plays, plus 2 entries into the grand prize drawing for every month that you send in data as a panel member.
In addition, every month you are an active participant using the panel software, you will automatically be given more chances to win and more entries into the grand prize drawing.
From all of this, it looks like they have listened to their members who have wanted some form of cash incentives. I think it’s a good sign when a research company listens to their own panel members! Of course, I still would absolutely love to hear from someone who has won the sweepstakes…
