I received an email from a research associate at the University of California at Riverside. He requested that I let you know their research center is looking for new members. They don’t pay cash because it is academic research, but they do offer another form of compensation in the form of drawings for cash prizes.

That’s as good as many other sites that offer only sweepstakes chances. And since it’s for academic purposes, I think it’s worthwhile to do.

The research associate wrote that they are building up the eLab consumer panel and are trying to find people to take part. The surveys and experiments they present will be about how people behave in the digital world. They intend to present the experiments and surveys only a couple of times a year. (That makes it a pretty small investment of your time.)

As a participant in the eLab panel, you will have the chance to win cash prizes. To sign up, click on this link to the UCR eLab website http://elab.ucr.edu/elab-global-panel.html.
When I visited the website, I liked the layout and found it easy to use. It says they have a monthly drawing worth $100, in addition to Research Study Prizes that are drawn and rewarded for each study.

This is original research using Web-based surveys and is being presented by faculty and graduate students of the University of California at Riverside. The results of this research will be published in academic journals. To me, this sounds like a neat thing to be involved with!

I thought this one was a pretty good deal when I first heard about it. I still haven’t changed my mind. The Great Apparel Research Board, or GARB, is a site that supplies information to a major apparel manufacturing company.

Joining is easy, as with most sites, and then you may be asked to do wear tests on apparel products sent to you via FedEx. Other ways you may be asked to participate are to review a new product concept online or to review packaging and graphics, also online.

Attending a local discussion group, taking part in a chat session or just letting them know what you like about clothing apparel in general, is another way you may be asked to participate. You are not obligated to take part in any survey or project; they do appreciate it when you do.

I haven’t received many surveys, but the one I did qualify for and complete paid $10. They say pay is usually between $5 and $100, although you always wonder how many of the $100 ones are out there.

So far they don’t use PayPal, but that may be an option in the future; I hope so. Payment is made by check, which is a still a good deal. The main point here is that they do pay. I have spoken with someone who has earned about $30 from them in just a few months.

It’s always great to find a new site that actually pays and does it in cash. I used to think only the big, well known sites were the ones that paid well, or actually paid at all. Now I’m finding lots of others just as good, but smaller, not as well known, and that are looking for conscientious survey participants.

If there are sites you run across and want to know more about without doing all of the footwork yourself, please let me know. I’ll be glad to check them out for you.

Nielsen/Net Ratings has always been a sweepstakes only site. You all should know by now, how much I don’t like being paid with a chance. Well, they’re now going to be paying $5 a quarter, or $20 a year, to those who keep participating.

They sent me an email over-viewing the possibilities for those who do choose to be one of their panel members. Since this is Nielsen, you know they’re going to be tracking you. They do appreciate this, though, and it may actually make a difference in how companies interact and do business with you, the consumer.

Nielsen has several different ways of rewarding you, now. You can make up to $20 a year for being an active panel member. You will have a chance to win over 1,500 instant prizes and you’ll have entries into the $10,000 grand prize sweepstakes.

There are more ways to win, too. If you tell 1 to 6 friends, you can earn 2 instant reward plays, plus 4 entries into the grand prize drawing. Take a Nielsen survey and you can earn 2 instant reward plays plus 2 entries into the grand prize drawing. Be an active panel member and earn 2 instant reward plays, plus 2 entries into the grand prize drawing for every month that you send in data as a panel member.

In addition, every month you are an active participant using the panel software, you will automatically be given more chances to win and more entries into the grand prize drawing.

From all of this, it looks like they have listened to their members who have wanted some form of cash incentives. I think it’s a good sign when a research company listens to their own panel members! Of course, I still would absolutely love to hear from someone who has won the sweepstakes…

Someone asked me what I knew about SurveyBank because they found themselves in the middle of a situation with them. SurveyBank wants to charge you $49.99 to join their site and have access to their “magic” list of wondrous, high paying survey sites.

Let me tell you, their list isn’t any different than any other list. It will contain the same sites as any list you can get for free. There is no magic about it. You’ll still have to do the research and find the ones that work best for you.

There isn’t much information out there about SurveyBank. It’s mostly the same ad type information any place you find them, with the same word for word “testimonials” from happy members.

They invite you to join for the “low” price of $49.99, which is dropped from the regular price of $89.99. They say this is because they know people can’t afford the regular price right now. So, what makes them think, if the regular price is too much for people, that these same people can afford to waste the reduced price?

Then they offer, for this ‘low’ price, a list of 550 survey sites, focus groups, telephone surveys and movie trailers. You ‘even’ get a chart to calculate your earnings for the year. A bonus? Or bogus?

According to all of this, you should be able to earn near $77,000 in a year! That will take 6 surveys a day, paying out at $20 each, and 6 focus groups a week, paying $110 each. Now, get real. Do you really think that’s going to happen? I don’t.

I’m sorry to say, there are more sites like this than just this one, and they’re trying to take advantage of people who want to earn some money from home. These are people who haven’t done much research, if any, on the subject, and who are more than likely in need of extra income.

This is a place for the old saying, “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.” You don’t need to pay for something you can get for free from a different website. So do some looking around and don’t fall for their pitch of having the only list that will get you paid. They don’t.

This is one of those sites that wants to put tracking software on your computer and I just don’t go for that. After reading their promises about nothing bad happening with this software and then sleeping on it for a few days, I finally went ahead and did the download. This says a lot for the good things I’ve heard about the site. It takes a lot to get past my paranoia!

Nothing bad did happen, other than I didn’t sleep so well until I removed it after about a month. After I deleted it, they continued to send me surveys just like before, so I’m really glad I didn’t keep the software download any longer.

Other than the required download and the fact that Opinion Square is a “points for prizes” survey site, they seem to be OK. The prizes they offer seem to be of better quality and value than many of the other prize awarding sites.

When I’ve been working away on one of the sites that only offer prizes, I’m usually glad to finally reach the point where I have the prize in hand. Then, when I discover it’s of inferior quality, I really become irritated. I believe in quality pay for quality work. That includes taking surveys. If you put yourself into a survey, like they want you too, I believe you should be paid accordingly.

This isn’t one of my favorite sites; but it’s definitely not one of the worst, either. If you want to give it a try, I’d say go for it. Be sure to let me know how it works out for you!

This is mostly a rewards site, with only a small portion of what they offer being surveys. Even at that, QuickRewards seems to be a pretty good site. When they do payout in cash, they pay via PayPal. Otherwise you will receive gift cards or another type reward of your choice.

Another way QuickRewards is different from the rest is in the area of customer service. This is important when you’re putting in time and risking money to complete offers. When you contact them, emails are usually answered in a matter of hours, and at the most, in a couple of days.

They go to bat for you when payouts from sponsors are being held up. They’ll also help you decipher those error messages that are bound to happen. Even if things don’t happen as you’d like, you will at least have had help to reach some conclusion. You won’t be, or feel, ignored.

One of the problems I found with this site was that there were too many paid emails and I had to quit doing that part of the offers. That wasn’t a big problem, though; the site has an area designated for removing yourself from things in which you no longer wish to participate.

If you want more information, you should go on over to their website and look around for yourself. They have a very complete FAQ section and a blog with announcements, as well as a place for member interaction.

One more thing; when you refer people, you will be rewarded 5% of whatever that person earns. All in all, QuickRewards seems to have something for everyone, so head on over to check it out for yourself if you like this sort of site, and let me know if you strike it rich

Some survey sites are for those who are totally serious about taking surveys and others add an element of fun. Well, Hotspex is a survey site that believes in having fun. With graphics, cartoons and little tidbits to exercise your brain, you can have your daily fix of play while taking a survey.

Hotspex is a Canadian site, but U.S. residents can access and participate in the surveys and games, as well. I’m not overly impressed with the point system, though. You earn Hotspex BUX and have to redeem them at points.com for prizes.

I won’t go into points.com here; it may get its own review at another time. Some of the other things Hotspex offers are giving you the option of donating your points to a charity or donating them to the planting of a tree.

After I joined, I discovered that the surveys are rare. Those that I did receive were interesting and creative, but there weren’t enough of them. At the slow rate of receiving surveys and the system of redeeming the BUX rewards, it could take nearly forever to collect a reward.

I had been curious about the site’s high rating at SurveyPolice and after joining, I learned the secret. It seems Hotspex customer service sends out emails to some members asking them to visit SurveyPolice and give the site a high rating.

Some of the things this site offers seem good and worthy, and some members may decide to participate based on that. I guess I can be a little forgiving of the BUX system and the practice of requesting high reviews from their members.

How do you know who to trust when you’re reading reviews of online survey sites? That’s a hard question to answer. Often, the people writing the reviews are paid for every click made to join the site being reviewed.

That can make for glowing reviews rather than totally honest ones. I decided it was important to me to give you honest reviews based on my experiences with the survey sites. The reviews I write are my true opinion.

I often receive emails agreeing with my reviews, but I also get comments that are in total disagreement. That just shows that not everyone has the same experience with the same site. Different people like different things in a site, and that’s what makes it all work.

Some people want to know why I don’t like some of the sites listed on Yourfreesurveys. Offer sites are not my favorites, yet there are other people who like them a lot and even make money from them. Yourfreesurveys offers choices, and you are the one who decides which sites you want to join.

When I’ve had a bad experience with a site, there have been times that site was removed from the Yourfreesurveys list. At other times, if I make a bad review and then find the survey site has changed, I’ll make another investigation and write another review.

I try to be fair and honest. That’s why I’m telling you that you can now earn $1.05 per survey with OTX directly, rather than going through AMP. OTX offers current surveys and daily surveys links. They also offer more surveys over the weekend than during the week. If you like entertainment and movie surveys, check them out, and let me know how it goes for you.

Everyone knows by now how I feel about sites that pay with sweepstakes. I just don’t like them. Even though Resonance Research, doesn’t send out very many surveys, when they do they pay you cash. I’d rather work with a site like this than one that sends me tons of surveys and then offers me a chance to win in a sweepstakes.

With Resonance Research, I receive maybe one survey a month. Each survey has usually paid from $3 to $5 each, although I’ve heard of $50 focus group surveys. I’ve never been offered one of them.
You do have to wait for the survey to close, but after that payment is through PayPal, and pretty quick. There is no minimum amount needed for payout, which combined with quick deposit is always a plus.

Resonance Research is noted for using surveys that focus on the emotions and for trying to gain insight into issues in this manor. On their website, they say that emotions are vital in making decisions, and that is why they use this type survey.

With the information gained and the technology they use, their results are focused and organized. The heightened level of insight helps when it’s time to put the information into action.

At the beginning of each survey, they tell you what it will pay. Some of the short quick surveys are paid only by sweepstakes chances, but again, you’ll know that before you start. Even the deep surveys take only about 20 minutes.

If you have questions or comments, you can go to their Facebook page and post them. It seems they are then answered fairly soon. This seems to be a pretty good site. You might want to check it out for yourself.

When I previously reviewed Netverdix, I hadn’t been a member very long. Since then I have heard from 2 people who I know who have won the $50 monthly drawing! I previously didn’t think this ever happened, on any site, so I’m now rethinking my stand on that.

When I originally joined, signing up was easy, except for the member profiles. I only did one at that time, since it took me 30 minutes. Now, I’ve gone back and finished all 15 of them. I’m pleased to report that the rest of them took no longer than 5 minutes each. You’re still entered into a sweepstakes for each profile you complete.

Payment is on a monthly basis and though the amounts I’ve received have been low, I have received them. Netverdix only send out a few surveys a month, but with their efficient screening process I’ve qualified for nearly all of them. Even at that, with the small number of surveys sent, it takes a while to accumulate any money.

When you are paid, it’s by check. They have added PayPal, and I’ve been meaning to change my payment method but haven’t got it done yet. Customer service is still as great as it was before, with a response being within 24 hours.

Netverdix seems to be a site you can trust. Even though there aren’t very many surveys sent out, if you qualify for the ones you are sent it does makes a difference. I’d recommend looking at this site, if you haven’t already done so.
